Kira's first swim

On Sunday we took the kids to the JMBA pool. This was Kira's first time in a pool and she did really well. She really enjoyed the kiddie pool, but held on super tight while we had her in the larger pool. Mason enjoyed showing us how he played in the pool with his friends when like when he goes swimming during the week at school.

Almost crawling!

Kira's starting to figure out the whole crawling business. She can sit herself back up from laying on her stomach and rocks back and forth quite a bit.

Father's Day 2011

Over Father's day weekend we had the annual Holmes get-together at my parents house. Mason played so hard all day long and had a great time!

Trike-A-Thon!

Daycare had a Trike-A-Thon where the kids could bring in their bikes and helmets and then they got to ride them around the center. Throughout the week they also 'learned' about bike safety. Mason was super excited to bring his bike to school and just asked me the other day again if he could bring his "trike-a-thon to school.

Baby Bumbleee

Lately Mason has been singing the Baby BumbleBee song (well, the first verse at least) while he is winding down in his crib before falling asleep. We've never heard the song before so we had to look up the words to figure out exactly what he was singing :)

He learns so much at daycare!

I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,

(Cup hands together as if holding bee)

I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee,
Ouch! It stung me!
(Shake hands as if just stung)

I'm squishing up the baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
('Squish' bee between palms of hands)

I'm squishing up a baby bumblebee,
Ooh! It's yucky!
(Open up hands to look at 'mess')

I'm wiping off the baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
(Wipe hands off on shirt)

I'm wiping off the baby bumblebee,

Now my mommy won't be mad at me!(
Hold hands up to show they are clean)

Mommy's helper

Look closely and you can see the crazy amount of drool! I can't believe she still doesn't have any teeth!

Some fun on a weekend at home

Mason and Kira in the pillow "car" as Mason calls it.

Parker and Kira hanging out.

Kira is 8 months!

Happy 8 months Kira! Kira continues to be a very happy baby (despite her recent ear and sinus infections for the past 3 weeks). We just had our 3rd trip to the doctor where they finally gave her a shot of rocephin because her ear infections actually got worse while she was on amoxicillin and omnicef. I was actually relieved that she was able to get a shot instead of us trying to force medicine down her throat twice a day for 10 days again.

Food: Kira is drinking approximately 6 ounces - 4 times a day. Cereal/yogurt for breakfast, Veggies for lunch and fruit for dinner. We switched it up a bit and have been having daycare feed Kira her veggies since she hasn't tolerated them very well at home. It seems to be going pretty well - some days on her report home it says that she didn't spit any of them out! Kira also is self-feeding herself Puffs very well. We will probably start giving her more "chunks" of food since she does much better with that then the puree's.

Weight: 18 pounds and mostly 9 month or 6-12 month clothes

Teeth: None!

Talking: da-da-da-da (all day long and very loudly sometimes!)

Mobility: Kira wants to crawl and follow her big brother around, but isn't quite there yet. She is starting to get up on her hands and her knees.

So Big!

Where did my puff go??!!

Drinking from a cup...almost

"I'll help you Kira!"

"This is how you do it..."
Kira loves playing with her ball that she got in her Easter basket. She especially lights up when Mason plays ball with her.

Jump Jump!

Who doesn't love a little jumperoo action?
