Bumbo

Bumbo
Since Mason has been doing so well holding up his head, we decided to break out the Bumbo. He can usually do about 10-12 minutes at a time in the chair and he really likes to look around while he's in it. Here are a few pictures of him in his bumbo. The pacifier helps him stay in the chair just a few minutes longer.

In the last one you can tell he figured out a way around not actually having to hold up his head!

Hands!

Mason discovered his hands not too long ago and LOVES to put them in his mouth at all times! He's also figured out how to suck his thumb. Sometimes we can hear him sucking his thumb all the way in our bedroom at night after we put him down to sleep. At this point, we're just glad he's fugured out a way to amuse himself!

Playtime and new friends!

Mason is slowly starting to enjoy tummy time a little bit more. We can't believe how much stronger his head/neck gets on a daily basis! He still doesn't have much of an interest in rolling over, but that could change any day.

I couldn't pass up this picture of him "lounging" in the recliner.
Speaking of the recliner, that is Mason's favorite place to be, so I had to get a shot of him in his favorite chair. Although, he might have an eye for Dad's spot in the living room, next to the laptop and watching TV.
Here is Mason with his first "girlfriend", Karlie. Karlie is Matt and Amanda's daughter and was born two weeks before Mason. My what a difference two weeks makes when they are this young!

Here are some shots of Mason's other new friends. He loves looking at this dog when he is on his activity mat and has now discovered that he can put it in his mouth as well!

Christmas & New Years

Well, this was Mason's first official Christmas and New Years. It's great to have him with us and I'm sure next year will be even more exciting. Below are a couple pictures from the Holidays.

The teddy bear is Mason's present from us. We ordered it online from Build-A-Bear and it was pretty fitting that it arrived with an orange bow around the neck.

The bear is just as big as Mason!

New Year's day at Eric and Jo's - all of Mason's cousin's just love him.

Smile!!

Mason started smiling around 5 weeks, but we weren't able to catch any with a camera until more recently. He loves being on his changing table and that is usually when we get the most smiles and chatter from him.

Some more cute pictures of Mason!

Mason is finally filling out his newborn clothes and just starting to fit into 3 month clothes at 8 weeks. So I figured I take a few pictures of him in my favorite outfits...

Dad's Birthday/Thanksgiving

Mark had a pretty low key birthday this year, but I think he definitely enjoyed his time with Mason watching football and cheering for his Fantasy teams.

It's hard to believe we're 28 years old already!

It was Mason's first Thanksgiving and we went to my mom and dad's house in Milton. Although he didn't get to enjoy any of the delicious food, he did have a cute outfit on :)

Lots of visitors and pictures of Mason!

Mason's cousins just love to hold him!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of the little guy:

1st Bath

Mason got his first bath at home this week. He made it quite an adventure for us, peeing AND pooping in the tub. He has continued the tradition of peeing during his bath, but lucky for us the poop was just a one time offense.

As you can see, he's not a big fan of the whole bathing thing, but he's slowly coming around and we're actually getting some smiles from him now.

These pictures are actually from his second bath since the first one was a little crazy.

Coming Home

We left the hospital on Sunday afternoon and we were definitely ready to get out of there!

We originally said we would have the photographer at the hospital come and take some pictures of Mason before we left. But since we had little to no sleep the night before we just wanted to get home skip the "official" photo. We were glad we didn't because it turned out quite well.

My family came out to see us shortly after we got home. Mason slept pretty much the entire time, and little did we know that that was going to be his normal schedule for quite a few weeks... sleeping all day and awake all night!

Mason got this adorable onesie from Brett and Erin. Good thing he wasn't born a day later!

Mason Patrick McGrath

How it all started... I started having contractions around 3am and my water broke at home so we headed to the hospital right away. I was already 5cm dilated when we got there so I was able to get the epidural right away. After that, everything was smooth sailing. I pushed a few times and there he was!

He weighed 6lbs 11 ounces, and was 18 inches long. We couldn't be more excited!

I hope Mason has a sweet tooth for some candy because he is sure going to have a lot of it on his birthdays!
